Help bring a kelp forest back. Then watch it from space.

Giant kelp can grow up to 2 feet a day. Watch the forest you fund return, season by season, through satellite imagery.

How we're bringing kelp forests back

Kelp absorbs carbon as it grows. How much stays stored long-term is still an open question, so we don't sell carbon credits on it. Instead, we track restoration by reporting canopy cover, season by season.

Clearing

Our divers remove urchins from bare reefs.

Seeding

Young kelp is planted back on the rock.

Growing

The canopy returns, giving fish a place to come back to.

Measuring

We follow changes in kelp canopy using satellite imagery.

What we’ve restored

1,200 acres of kelp canopy across 4 sites, verified by satellite imagery each season. Illustrative figures for this concept.

Communities

A reef worth coming back to

We hire local crews to do the work, and restored kelp habitat supports marine ecosystems.
